Hi everyone, I was just scrolling down through my instagram feed, when I came across a Aot page. The discussion between everyone, under the last posted picture, was about season 3. I've seen 100 of comments about people saying season 3 of the anime will be released in 2020. I looked on the internet and wasn't able to find anything about season 3 Aot. So I was wandering if there were any statements regarding the release date of season 3 Aot. Does anyone know anything?

I've waited sooo long on the second season, and refused to read the manga, bc I fell in love with the anime. Although season 2 had only 12 episodes, I can't wait another 4 years for 12 episodes! Thanks everyone, I'am soooo hoping season 3 will at least come out next year. Unless it was already decided AOT 2 would be a split season, asking for another season so soon it's just delusional 2 years in between seasons is the minimum usually (and even then a third season is extremely rare, just saying) but yeah, it would be nice if we had third season!! But as others have mentioned, sales are the main revenue for such a series, and for what I was able to see sadly it didn't get such a huge jump in pre-orders as one would have expected, but if you follow sales in general you may be able to see that in general sales are lower and there are fewer and fewer hits-series each year, so it's not just AOT PD: if you want to see predictions numbers for pre-orders (they're not 100% accurate but it helps to see how a series is doing each week, if a specific episode helped make a bust in pre-orders, etc, kind of helpful imo!). Hahah, no, it doesn't really work like that (PD: I wouldn't consider AOT new by any mean.it's been already 4 years since it's peak popularity after all, we all saw it coming that Shingeki wouldn't be as popular as back then, must people moved on and we can't blame them, it was kind of expected) first of all, I'm guessing you're from United States where official streaming is a thing right?
